wins in 3 straight trials. Can you tell that

and entertaining the photographer and onlookers.

As always we were having a LOT OF FUN!

Derrie is Best of Winners

Derrie won Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners at the Troy Kennel Club Show. It was her very first weekend showing. She is lovely and a very sweet Toller. She went on to earn more points toward

her championship at Warwick. Thanks to Ed and Michele McGrath for letting me have her a few weeks in April to start her show career.

Finn's Group 4

Christine called me to let me know that Finn earned
a Sporting Group 4 placement on 3/17/07 at the
young age of 9 months old. We are so proud of this
up and coming Toller team. North and south of the
border the Reid X Sadie Seastar kids are showing well.

Lilly and Melissa win big at NESGA

Seastar's Northern Lilly owned and handled by Melissa Smith earned a 4-pt major under judge Doug Johnson at the NESGA show on 3/18/07 competing from the 6-9 month puppy class. Melissa also won her Junior class with Lilly taking her second first place win. We are very proud of Lilly who is finally looking as if conformation can be fun. We are also proud of Melissa. Well done!

Late Winter Nor'easter

Hit with Mar 16 Nor'easter that left 12" snow on us (and me stranded in NYC trying to get home)... while a pain for us humans, Lola & Gracie LOVED it. A few pictures of them outside playing the back yard.

We cannot wait for spring to come and to start field training in earnest. Gracie is a machine in the field (never enough retrieving for her) and Lola, the one who wouldn't swim, well - now she will swim through ice chunks, mud, sticks - whatever! Crazy dogs.

Magic's Group 3

placement at the Elm City KC show

in Hartford on Feb 17th with new

junior co-owner Kaila Smith. This

was Kaila's first show - she took

the Breed, a Group placement and

a first place in her Junior's class.

She had to run between rings

and did so with ease. I would

have fainted!

Hope is a New Champion

and even a Best of Breed over a group winning special - her brother Magic. Hope was only 8 months old when she completed her point requirements for AKC and is our youngest BBE Champion. She loves to show like her daddy Reid and her mom Sadie.

Farley Validates as Avalanche Rescue Dog

One day before his second birthday, Farley and I passed our CARDA valadation exam. We are now an operational avalanche rescue team. Thanks to Jane and Laurie for this hard working little boy!

New Nelia Photos

Nelia and I went to the BIG IKC benched shows this weekend. We only made it down for 2 of the days we were entered. (my son Callan go sick so we missed the last day) We did not get any points but she learned that showing can be FUN! And that judges touching your butt will not kill you ;-) She was bored on our "off" day so she found my son's new ball. Then I have a new board and train client named Jace. The two of them have been having a blast running around in the snow. Jace is a 12 week old "husky" puppy, very cute and very sassy, just the way we like them! Some day the snow will melt and I can post photos with green in them.

Until then we'll try and stay warm.

Zoey the Wonder Dog

Zoey handled by Lauren had an outstanding weekend at a CPE agility competition. Zoey received a total of 8 qualifying legs (out of 8 – 4 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday) and came in 1st place on 3 of the legs, 2nd place on 3 of the legs and 4th place on 2 of the legs.We were most pleased that Zoey also scored High in Trial for the entire competition besting more than 125 dogs by getting the highest combined scores for all her runs. She SURE loves agility and those hurdles!!! Check her fly over this one!

Seastar Has Hope

Here are the recent show photos of Hope. She went 3 for 3 shows earning all the points for Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners for 2 - 4 point majors and on the final day took Best of Breed for another 3 point major. Hope loves to show and will do anything for cheese. She is a real love bug too. Jane Folkman

Chris (Jane & Laurie's brother) sacked out on the couch with Lola and Gracie. Notice Lola up on top of the couch back - which she has just about ruined!! She loves to sit up 'high' and will try to make a dog bed out of any couch back she can find. And of course, Gracie all resting on Chris' arm. They really like it when he visits from San Fran because he plays and pets them.

Never used a site like this before. I would like to be able to leave comments on some posts, without creating a new post, but am confused at how to do so. I see under post options I can "allow" reader comments, so this is a test to see if people can comment on this post. If people know how to do this maybe they could contact me so I could figure it out. I would encourage people to allow comments on their posts, for example I would love to comment on some of the beautiful puppies staring on this site!!

Yeah winter!

Well, it is winter in Fernie, and Farley and I have started work again at Fernie Alpine Resort. We have fingers and paws crossed for our CARDA validation attempt in January in Whistler, BC. We have a ways to go to be ready, but not for lack of Farley's desire for the work! I will try for some quality pics soon. I absolutely love reading about all the newest Seastar pups!!! Finn's Debut Show Picture

Finn's Dog Show Debut!

This past weekend Finn, "Seastar's Roaneden Darkwater", turned 6 months old, and made his Dogshow debut! He had so much fun in the ring, and displayed great confidence for a baby-dog. Saturday was a Toller breed booster, 20 Tollers entered, and Finn was awarded Reserve Winners dog. I was so happy with how he showed. Sunday, even better, Finn won Best of Winners, with a class of 10 dogs, and earned a 4 pt major towards his Canadian Championship. Dad (Reid) showed his best as well, and earned a Group 3rd and cut in the Sporting Group the following day. I was very proud of both my "boys".

Finn will be back out showing Dec 27-29 in Ontario...hoping for some puppy Group wins!!!

Meadow and Finn will be travelling to Brooksville Florida in January for a few days of dogshow and a Holiday on Sanibel Isle.

Nya Starr Photos!

Looks like I'm able to add the photos of Nya now!! Super great!
....as i mentioned before, Nya gets to run outdoors alot and gets plenty of exercise! Laurie she is SO super active!! When I'm on my way home from work I get super excited knowing that i'm gonna be with my beautiful girl SOON!!! (Joey is with her during the day and is always taking her on nature walks if he's not mountain biking with Nya)....

Hi Laurie! Unfortunately, I'm not able to send ANY photos through this blog. I try to but error message pops up ("there was an error during upload")! I get to the point where the photos are uploading but to no avail immediately after that.....
Should I send photos to you through kodak gallery instead?

...as i mentioned in my previous blog....i wasn't sure if anyone else was having the same problems uploading their pix....
